02.03.2009 - RMK sold 244 vehicles at Internet auctions 02.03

RMK sold 244 used vehicles for a total of MEEK 9.5 via the auction portal www.osta.ee.

According to Jaan Schults, the IT-Manager of the Forest Management Department of RMK, the auctions were a great success considering the current economic situation. “At the auctions organised for decreasing the vehicle fleet of RMK, practically all vehicles found a new owner, and the sales prices were, for the most part, higher than at earlier RMK auctions,” noted Jaan Schults, according to whom the auction marathon that started in October of last year has come to an end, with only the final agreements still being prepared.

In total, RMK placed a total of 250 no longer need vehicles on sale during the four auctions, of which only six were not sold. Objects of sale included 215 cars, which were sold for a total of EEK 6 995 071. The majority of these were Nivas and Suzuki Jimnys, the average sales prices of which were EEK 21 900 and EEK 45 300, respectively. RMK also sold 39 pickup trucks for an average price of EEK 33 800 and 35 SUVs for an average price of EEK 39 700. At the auctions, 14 MTZ-type agricultural tractors also found a new owner. As the tractors varied in their condition, their sales prices varied from EEK 15 000 to EEK 145 000.

The vehicle fleet of RMK was reduced by a third through the auctions organised.

RMK is a profit-making state agency established under the Forestry Act, aimed at the sustainable and efficient management of the state forest. In addition to this, RMK creates possibilities for forest holidays and shapes nature awareness. RMK manages 38% of Estonian forests.
