Sale of firewood

Pulpwood makes up 16% of RMK’s timber sales revenue and also 16% of the quantity.

The annual average sales volume is approximately 0.3 million cubic metres and all local tree species may be contained in firewood. On request, firewood is provided separately in terms of coniferous and hardwood timber by RMK.

Firewood is sold at negotiated prices under contracts of very different terms. The smallest sale quantity is a truckload, for which a record of delivery and receipt is signed. Larger quantities are sold under long-term contracts for up to 5 years. Approximately 50% of the volume of firewood is sold under long-term contracts.

Insofar as firewood is used very extensively for heating by households in Estonia, RMK provides the option of ordering it in 3 metre long logs, arranging also for the delivery of firewood to a customer. Orders may be placed for hardwood, spruce, pine or birch firewood.
