Hunting opportunities on state forest lands
RMK administers 3%
of the state hunting grounds, providing first and foremost local hunters with
the following opportunities.
- individual organised hunting
trips
- group organised hunting trips
- hunt leader service on individual
organised hunting trips
- use of a prepared hunting site,
that is, rental of hunting facilities
In the process of
an auction of hunting permits, we provide a hunting party for one hunting
season with the use of a hunting site for hunting large and small game.
Land owners are
granted cull permits for the protection of forest and fields if other game
deterring measures have been exhausted. The carcasses of the hunted game (only
non-trophy animals may be hunted) belong to the hunting district. A land owner
may, if he or she likes, also buy the game carcass or else the meat is sold to
wholesalers as per regular procedure.
