We are celebrating the anniversary of nature conservation 24.03

This year, 100 years will have passed since the day a piece of nature was first placed under protection in Estonia.

The State Forest Management Centre (RMK) is celebrating the 100th anniversary of nature conservation with events and competitions dedicated to the protection of nature. There are more than one hundred events and 5 competitions scheduled for the year. The common slogan of the events is: together with nature.

The first competition was “100 wishes and prayers”, which began on 15 March. This is followed by a competition involving cake recipes, in which one mandatory component is something from the forest. The jury will choose the 10 best recipes, and on the birthday of nature protection in August, these cakes can be tasted at RMK nature centres. Other competitions are: “100 nature postcards”, “100 pictures of the forest” and “100 favourites in nature”.

RMK is organising the nature events in different locations across Estonia each week. More information on the website www.rmk.ee/loodusegakoos
